As far as John Mac‘s concerned, taking photographs for clients and advertising agencies isn’t about producing the expected. It’s about going that extra mile and delivering something a little bit special. That’s because every image he creates isn’t just vitally important for a client’s shop window; it’s incredibly important for his too.

It’s for this reason that John likes to work as closely as possible with creative teams and clients to understand the thinking behind a concept and the target audience it’s aiming to win over. Only then can he push an idea and make it work as well as it possibly can. And this approach to his work is always the same – no matter how large or small the project in hand. For John, budget is totally irrelevant.

He has worked for a diverse range of clients of all sizes, and has photographed everything from a kitten licking its lips to a Boeing 707 jet turbine gently purring in its hangar.

Needless to say, John loves taking on new challenges. In fact, not so very long ago, he did a job for Canon Worldwide that involved photographing a mountaineer conquering a peak in South Africa.

Of late, his work has tended to focus on the world of fashion and luxury products where his experience and attention to detail can, he fervently believes, make all the difference to the end result.

John counts himself lucky to have had the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented and inspiring creative teams who have taught him as much as anyone.

He is also very grateful to have received recognition from several award bodies including: the Epica Awards, the European Epica Awards and the Association of Photographers.
